Area Care Manager

Helping Hands is one of the UK’s leading providers of home care, and we’re seeking an experienced Area Care Manager to lead multiple branches delivering visiting and live-in care across the South West.

Whether you come from care, pharmacy, dentistry, or another regulated sector, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to support and develop teams, ensuring outstanding care and compliance.


Role Overview

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will guide Branch Care Managers and their teams to deliver high-quality, compliant services across your area. You’ll manage operational performance, compliance, and workforce planning, covering a large geographical area including both Devon and Somerset.

This is a field-based role, with regular travel between branches.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead branch teams delivering both visiting and live-in care services

  • Maintain compliance with CQC and internal quality standards

  • Manage performance, growth, and risk within your area

  • Support recruitment, induction, and development of branch teams

  • Foster a positive, values-driven culture focused on quality and person-centred care

  • Collaborate with central teams (HR, Finance, Quality, Training)


Person Specification

  • Proven leadership experience in a regulated sector (e.g., health, pharmacy, dentistry, care)

  • Strong understanding of compliance frameworks (CQC)

  • Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills

  • Commercially aware with experience managing performance

  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel frequently across your patch
