As our Management Accountant, you’ll play a key role within our growing finance team — supporting month‑end, driving accuracy, analysing performance, and partnering with colleagues across our 150+ branches. Across a fast‑paced, multi‑site environment with more than 7,000 carers and 900 office staff, you’ll ensure the financial insight and reporting is in place to help the business deliver outstanding care every day.

Salary: £34,550 per year

This is a fixed term contract to cover mat leave. 

What you’ll do

  • Assist with posting all month‑end accruals, prepayments, property costs and ad‑hoc expenditure.
  • Review monthly P&Ls with Finance Business Partners and Budget Holders. 
  • Ensure all KPIs and month‑end deadlines are met within the accounts team. 
  • Complete salaries and wages reconciliations in partnership with the Payroll team.
  • Support Spend Tracker review meetings and identify opportunities to improve cost control.
  • Work closely with the Group Financial Accountant and Group Management Accountant on month‑end deliverables.
  • Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis to identify trends and support decision‑making.
  • Assist with preparation of year‑end data, forecasting and annual budgets.

 

What you’ll bring

Essential

  • A motivated, can‑do attitude with strong organisation and time‑management skills.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data manipulation).
  • Experience with pre-payments and accruals
  • High accuracy levels and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a busy finance team.
  • A friendly, patient and service‑focused approach.

Desirable

  • Interest in or early progress toward AAT/ACCA/CIMA qualifications.
  • Experience in a finance or process‑driven environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Clear, confident communication — especially with non‑finance colleagues.
