Area Care Manager

At Helping Hands, we’re one of the UK’s leading providers of home care. We're now looking for an experienced and driven Area Care Manager to oversee a group of branches delivering both visiting and live-in care across a key region – including Chelmsford, Southend-on-Sea, Enfield, Basildon, Brentwood, and surrounding towns.
This role is ideal for someone with leadership experience in any regulated sector — such as home care, pharmacy, dentistry, optometry, or health services — who wants to lead at scale while making a meaningful difference.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you’ll support and guide Branch Care Managers to deliver outstanding care and compliance across multiple locations. You’ll be accountable for operational performance, people development, quality, and growth – ensuring your services meet both CQC standards and Helping Hands' expectations.
This is a field-based leadership role with regular travel across your area.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and support branch teams to deliver high-quality, person-centred care

Maintain full compliance with CQC regulations and internal quality standards

Manage performance across services, identifying risks and opportunities

Support local recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning

Oversee delivery of both visiting and live-in care from each branch

Foster a culture of accountability, care, and continuous improvement

Collaborate with central teams including HR, Quality, Finance, and Training
What We’re Looking For

Leadership experience in a regulated industry (e.g. care, pharmacy, dental, health services)

Strong understanding of compliance and service delivery frameworks (e.g. CQC)

Ability to influence, coach, and build high-performing teams

Commercially minded with operational awareness

Excellent planning, communication, and problem-solving skills

Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel frequently
